(HARDCOPY-FILE "IT:KEITH;GOULD-NEEDS.TEXT" :PAGE-HEADINGS NIL) MEMORANDUM TO: Lester Fussner FROM: Keith Corbett DATE: July 17, 1986 SUBJ: Gould Needs TCP/IP or Chaosnet for VAX COPY: John Salis, Doug Dahlen, Ward MacKenzie Mr. Murali Mani, of Gould in Rolling Meadows, called the Customer Service hot-line yesterday to discuss a problem with communications between his Lambda and his VAX. The problem is not technical; rather, it is an account issue, and may be a sales lead. Gould has been using Symbolic's Chaosnet package to communicate between the Lambda and VAX. When Gould updated their VAX to VMS 4.2, Chaosnet ceased to function. They spoke with Symbolics and were told that Chaosnet was no longer supported on the VAX. Mr. Mani would like to know what communications options we can offer. He would be happy to purchase Chaosnet from another vendor if it is available; otherwise, he would like information on our TCP/IP package. I assured him that Sales would get in contact with him to go over the options. KMC
