M E M O R A N D U M TO: Wendy Rowe FROM: Keith Corbett DATE: Aug. 25, 1986 SUBJ: Status of 16mb Allocation Problem -- SECOND REQUEST COPY: John Salis, Bob Moore, Mike Grandfield Would you please keep me posted on the status of the problem that is caused by allocating 16mb to a Lisp processor? You told me 8/20 that the problem has been addressed, and that you would verify this soon. Can you advise me ASAP on the nature and results of these tests? I would also appreciate some further clarification, specifically: 1) What is/are the exact circumstance(s) that can cause the problem? (Can it happen on a 3x3? ...Is it only caused by allocating exactly 16mb?) 2) What are all the known side-effects? 3) If the problem is fixed, who fixed it? ...In Lisp, or Config? ...At what revision? ...How? Should your test determine that the problem is not fixed, I'm sure you would agree to have it documented in "Known Bugs and Limitations". We would also need a work-around in the final release of 3.0 (i.e. an allocation limitation in Config). KMC
