M E M O R A N D U M TO: Ed Blancett FROM: Keith Corbett DATE: August 25, 1986 SUBJ: Software Part Numbers COPY: John Salis, Wendy Rowe I asked Pat Taylor to get me a list of part numbers for every piece of LMI software and a BOM for every assembly that includes LMI software. She was very helpful, but was unable to provide a complete list. After reviewing the part master reports, I am concerned about the state of the database of software part numbers. Pat gave me reports for part numbers with class codes 60 and 61. It is my understanding that 61 is for software; but the list contains mostly internal tapes (S/W PROGRAM and S/W PROM items). Only System 5, Pascal, and "free" Object-Lisp are represented in this class. (It might be helpful in the future to separate internal software from external -- customer orderable -- items by creating a new class.) Many items in class 60 (documentation?) are apparently tapes. I have marked off a few that I think should be moved (attached), but I may have missed some. Lots of other tapes are missing altogether from these printouts (most of the 2.0 software, in fact). Would it be possible for Engineering to conduct a review and bring all the software together under one class? I need a complete listing ASAP to make a review of software configurations. Please let me know when I might receive the listings I need. KMC
