Abstract: CRBAT is a program designed to simplify batch processing under RSTS/E V6C, when the input is from the card reader. It does this by repeatedly trying to open the card reader and reading any cards which may be present. This is done at 30 second intervals. If the program finds cards in the reader it looks for a valid command. Upon finding a command it ups its priority then it takes the action dictated by the command. On completion of the command it looks for another, if it fails to find another it drops its priority and resumes its sleep-look for cards cycle. While in its sleep cycle it gives up command of the reader so that another job may use it. If the card reader is busy when CRBAT tries to use it, it sleeps until the card reader is free.
